Simpplr Study Finds Fragmented Systems Hindering AI Deployment in Workplaces
Simpplr shared findings from a Forrester Consulting study showing that enterprise interest in AI workplace platforms is high, but deployment remains limited. In a press release, the company said that while 75 percent of IT leaders are interested in adopting an AI powered digital workplace platform, only around one in four have implemented one.
The survey, which included 310 senior IT decision makers in North America and the UK, found that 85 percent believe fragmented data and disconnected systems must be unified for AI to succeed. Nearly half identified missing organizational context as the main reason AI systems fail to deliver expected results. Respondents said the challenge of unifying data and knowledge systems will grow as more AI tools are layered onto existing infrastructure.
Governance and security were cited as major barriers to scaling. About 63 percent of respondents have documented AI strategies and standards, but more than half said implementing observability and responsible AI practices remains difficult. Security and access control risks were identified as the top concerns by 49 percent of leaders, with 78 percent saying stronger security frameworks are needed before expanding AI use.
Most IT leaders said their AI investments focus on operational efficiency and employee productivity rather than revenue growth. More than half pointed to AI that automates routine tasks as having the most positive impact on employee experience, followed by tools that reduce time spent searching for information.
Three quarters of respondents expressed interest in unified AI workplace platforms to address fragmentation. Expected benefits include improved productivity, agility, and employee experience, but the study concludes that successful AI deployment depends on unified data environments, connected knowledge systems, and defined governance structures.
