Skild AI Unveils Skild Brain for Multi-Purpose Robots
Skild.ai, supported by Amazon and SoftBank Group, has introduced a new AI model named Skild Brain, designed to enhance the capabilities of various robots. Reuters reports that this model allows robots to think, navigate, and respond more like humans, marking a significant step towards creating humanoid robots capable of performing a wide range of tasks.
The Skild Brain model is engineered to operate on different types of robots, from assembly-line machines to humanoids. Demonstrations have shown Skild-powered robots performing complex tasks such as climbing stairs, maintaining balance, and picking up objects in cluttered environments. These tasks require advanced spatial reasoning and adaptability to changing surroundings.
Skild AI addresses the data scarcity issue in robotics by training its model on simulated episodes and human-action videos, further refining it with data from robots using the system. This approach creates a "shared brain" that continuously improves as more robots are deployed. The model also includes safety measures to prevent robots from applying unsafe force, ensuring safe human interaction.
