SmartAC introduced its Gen2 sensor and residential HVAC intelligence model in a press release. The sensor costs $5 per month and requires no wiring or wireless internet connection.

The model uses performance data from more than 90,000 connected homes, with each sensor collecting about 15,000 data points per day. It combines sensor readings with climate, home characteristics, and data from comparable nearby systems to assess HVAC performance and identify emerging problems.

Gen2 is available now to SmartAC contractor partners. Existing Gen1 systems will use the same intelligence model, and SmartAC will demonstrate the new sensor at Pantheon in Orlando from October 5 to 7.
