SmartShooter Wins Counter Drone Contract With $150 Million Ceiling

SmartShooter received a US Department of War contract lasting 36 months for SMASH counter drone systems, the company said in a press release. The contract has a maximum ordering ceiling of $150 million and names SmartShooter as the sole supplier for the covered systems, training and services.

The agreement supports the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 Domestic Shield Program, including force protection and base defense missions in the US and overseas. Individual delivery orders will determine the quantity, scope and timing of purchases.

SMASH rifle mounted fire control systems use artificial intelligence, computer vision and target tracking algorithms to calculate firing solutions and control shot release when a weapon is aligned. The operator retains the decision to engage, and the systems can connect to external sensors and battle management systems.
