Smokeball Adds Westlaw Deep Research to Archie AI
Smokeball will integrate Thomson Reuters' Westlaw Deep Research into its Archie AI later this month, the company announced in a press release. Lawyers will be able to ask legal research questions within Archie and receive structured, citation backed reports, with every citation linking into Westlaw.
Westlaw Deep Research uses agentic AI to plan and run multi step research across Westlaw content. When Archie recognizes that a requested client letter or brief needs legal research, it runs Westlaw Deep Research first and builds from the resulting report, which stays on the matter for future reference.
The integration is the next phase of the partnership Smokeball and Thomson Reuters announced in March. A CoCounsel Legal integration in Smokeball is planned for early 2027.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
