SMX and Vannevar Labs Partner to Deliver Mission Specific AI Agents for U.S. Defense
Vannevar Labs and SMX have entered into a strategic partnership to deliver mission specific AI agents to U.S. Combatant Commands and select federal agencies, announced in a press release. The collaboration aims to accelerate operational outcomes by combining Vannevar’s data, AI, and mission analytics capabilities with SMX’s enterprise delivery and contracting positions across defense and civilian agencies.
The companies will deploy AI enabled services by embedding mission and technical experts onsite to scale usage and mission results. Vannevar and SMX began working together in 2021 to support Special Operations Command Pacific on open source intelligence. In 2025, the partnership expanded to include agentic capabilities for interagency operations.
The new initiative will focus on deeper data integrations and reasoning agents designed for specific use cases such as Western Hemisphere defense, counter narcotics operations, and information dominance. The goal is to provide decision support tools tailored to operational teams across multiple mission environments.
