Solideon Defense Launches New Facility in Norfolk
Solideon Defense has announced the launch of a new production facility in Norfolk, Virginia, developed in partnership with Fairlead, announced in a press release. This new division aims to strengthen the U.S. submarine industrial base by providing deployable and resilient production capacity.
The Norfolk facility will utilize Solideon's software-defined systems to transform raw materials into mission-ready assets, such as submarine hull sections and defense-grade hardware. This initiative aligns with the U.S. Navy's operational requirements and aims to enhance maritime capabilities by deploying autonomous production directly to the waterfront.
Jeff Yeager, President of Solideon Defense, will lead the Norfolk effort, bringing extensive experience in defense manufacturing and maritime operations. The partnership with Fairlead integrates autonomous, robotic manufacturing into the workflow, significantly reducing production timelines and supply chain risks.
This launch supports the Administration's priorities to accelerate defense production and expand submarine capacity, contributing to national security readiness and economic growth in the Hampton Roads area, home to America's largest naval base.
