Sophont launches Holon-S1 to predict gene activity from pathology slides
Sophont announced Holon-S1 in a press release, describing it as a pan cancer AI model that predicts spatial gene and biological pathway activity from routine hematoxylin and eosin pathology slides. The model is available for research use only.
Sophont evaluated Holon-S1 across 16 organ types, more than 15 scanners, and both formalin fixed, paraffin embedded and fresh frozen tissue. In a retrospective osteosarcoma case, the model identified a fibroblast associated program that included FAP, the target of a therapy to which the patient responded, despite not being trained on osteosarcoma.
In triple negative breast cancer, the spatial organization of predicted EREG activity was associated with response to chemotherapy before surgery in discovery and separate held out cohorts. Sophont plans further retrospective and prospective studies to assess possible diagnostic use.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
