Southwest Airlines has launched a ChatGPT plugin that lets travelers discover destinations, search for flights and access booking options.

Southwest Airlines launched what it describes as the first ChatGPT plugin from a US airline, the company announced in a press release. The plugin lets travelers discover Southwest destinations and search for flights within ChatGPT.

Users can move from travel planning in ChatGPT to booking options from Southwest. The release presents the plugin as the first phase of a broader approach to flight booking through AI services.

Southwest developed the experience with OpenAI and Amazon Web Services. The airline plans to add further AI based capabilities over time.
