SQC's Watermelon joins Fast Company's 2026 tech list
SQC says Watermelon was named to Fast Company's 2026 Next Big Things in Tech list, according to a company press release. The system was recognized in the Computing, Chips, and Foundational Technology category.
Launched in October 2025, Watermelon is a commercial quantum reservoir computer that generates quantum enhanced features from classical data. It can analyze relationships in sparse and time series data or serve as an offload resource for AI model training.
In a Telstra trial, Watermelon reduced training time for a predictive network model from weeks to days. Tests with Schneider Electric found that it improved home energy forecasting accuracy by up to 41% compared with a classical benchmark.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
