Starling Bank plans to train a transactional foundation model on Civo's UK sovereign cloud using more than 15 billion anonymized transactions and NVIDIA technology.

Starling Bank plans to train a transactional foundation model on the UK sovereign cloud operated by Civo, according to Data Center Dynamics. The model will use proprietary data from more than 15 billion anonymized transactions.

The bank will use NVIDIA hardware and its Transaction Foundation Model developer blueprint. The training process will also use CUDA-X libraries for GPU accelerated data processing and NeMo AutoModel.

Starling expects to deploy the model in early 2027, initially to improve fraud detection. It later plans to connect the model with Starling Assistant and use it as the basis for a shared intelligence layer supporting customer services.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
