Stratom to Develop Autonomous Refueling System for Navy's Uncrewed Vessels
Stratom has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research contract to develop an autonomous refueling system for the Navy's uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs), according to Global Newswire. This initiative aims to enhance naval refueling and logistics at sea by allowing USVs to refuel without human intervention.
The project will leverage Stratom's Deployable Onboard Refueling Interface (DORI), an automated system designed to extend the operational endurance of USVs. DORI integrates a hose retrieval system, perception sensors, an automated reel mechanism, and a quick-release coupling for emergency disconnects. This system is expected to reduce personnel risk and increase mission flexibility in contested environments.
The Phase I effort will focus on validating the technical feasibility of DORI's automated reel mechanism, including concept refinement and small-scale prototyping. Stratom also sees potential for commercial deployment of DORI in ship-to-ship bunkering, which could improve safety and reduce operating costs in commercial shipping.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
