Suno Replaces Older AI Music Models With v6

Suno AI introduced its v6 music model family, developed with licensed data from partners including Warner Music Group, BMG Rights Management and Believe, as detailed in a company blog post. The company says it will retire its previous models as v6 becomes available.

The release includes three models. The standard v6 model is available to Pro and Premier subscribers, v6-wild provides more varied results for paying users, and the faster v6-mini is available to everyone.

Users can edit song sections with plain language, change individual lyrics, create mashups and isolate elements from samples to build beats. The models also accept text, audio, images and video as inputs. Suno plans additional products that let participating artists opt in to uses of their music and receive compensation.

Not all of the industry has settled with the company. TechCrunch reports that Sony, Universal Music Group, and groups of artists and users have copyright suits pending against Suno. The company's announcement does not mention the litigation.
