Supermicro Unveils Data Center Building Block Solutions for AI
Supermicro has announced its Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS), designed to simplify and expedite the construction of AI/IT liquid-cooled data centers, announced in a press release. The DCBBS offers a modular approach to data center infrastructure, providing pre-validated, scalable units that include servers, storage, networking, and liquid cooling components.
The DCBBS aims to reduce the complexities associated with building AI data centers by offering a standardized yet flexible architecture. This solution is tailored to handle demanding AI workloads, enabling faster deployment and operation while reducing costs. Supermicro's DCBBS includes customizable options at the system, rack, and data center levels, allowing clients to meet specific project requirements.
Supermicro's DCBBS also incorporates their DLC-2 technology, which enhances energy efficiency by capturing heat directly from chips, such as AI GPUs. This technology is expected to significantly reduce power consumption, data center footprint, and water usage, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership.
The solution is designed to support the growing demand for AI infrastructure, equipping data centers with up to 256 Liquid Cooled 4U Supermicro NVIDIA HGX system nodes, each featuring 8 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. This setup is interconnected with high-speed networking platforms, ensuring robust performance for AI training and inference applications.
