Taipei Forum Promotes Youth Leadership in Responsible AI
The 2025 AI and Youth Empowerment International Forum in Taipei highlighted Taiwan’s growing leadership in responsible artificial intelligence, announced in a press release. The event was co-hosted by NOWNEWS Crossroad, EdYouth Taiwan Education Association, and the Taiwan Youth Generation for Good Association, drawing more than 500 participants including students, legislators, and AI experts.
The forum included the Youth Proposal Competition, where the team “Three Isles, Budding Voices” from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology won first place for their “Five-Senses Food and Agriculture Exploration Box,” designed to teach children about local ingredients through sensory learning. Dozens of projects were submitted covering topics such as mental health, education, and sustainable mobility.
U.S. Gen Z cybersecurity leader Kyla Guru delivered a keynote titled “The Age of AI Revolution: If You Can Prompt It, You Can Build It.” She cited Taiwan’s semiconductor strength, noting that the country produces 90% of global chips and that TSMC powers 67% of AI data infrastructure. Guru also outlined national goals to train 200,000 AI professionals, invest NT$10 billion, and reach NT$1 trillion in AI output by 2026.
A panel discussion featuring Legislator Ju-chun Ko, Peng-Sin Ye from the Hon Hai Education Foundation, Professor Min-Chun Hu of National Tsing Hua University, and youth representative Ted Lu explored AI education, cybersecurity, and ethical standards. Panelists emphasized advancing AI literacy and inclusive governance to strengthen Taiwan’s position in global AI development.
