Tech Mahindra Unveils AI Model for Autonomous Telecom Networks
Tech Mahindra has introduced a new Multi-Modal Network Operations Large Language Model for telecom networks, developed using NVIDIA AI Enterprise software and AWS Cloud infrastructure, announced in a press release. This model is based on the Llama 3.1 8b instruct model and is tailored for telecom networks by training on extensive network datasets and applying advanced generative and agentic AI frameworks.
The model aims to transform traditional telecom networks into fully autonomous networks, achieving levels L4 and above. It manages both structured and unstructured data, enabling proactive issue resolution and improved service quality. Tech Mahindra's collaboration with NVIDIA and AWS facilitates this transition, integrating their network automation platform, netOps.ai, and other frameworks with AWS services like Amazon ECR, EC2, and EKS.
In its initial phase, the model will focus on enhancing operational efficiency through 'Intelligent Observability', introducing AI-driven use cases such as the Dynamic Network Insights Studio and the Proactive Network Anomaly Resolution Hub. These solutions offer AI-powered network observability and autonomous anomaly resolution, respectively, without human intervention.
This initiative underscores Tech Mahindra's commitment to driving AI innovation in telecom, aiming to reduce operational costs and foster a more agile network environment.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
