TelePIX has unveiled the first high-resolution images from BlueBON, the world's first satellite dedicated to monitoring blue carbon, announced in a press release. The images, captured on April 29, showcase the desert region near Alrudood in Yemen's Hadhramaut area, revealing intricate details of the landscape.

BlueBON, a 6U-class CubeSat, was launched in January 2025 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. It is equipped with a proprietary optical payload featuring patented focus adjustment technology, allowing for high-resolution imaging without additional mechanical systems. This makes it particularly suitable for CubeSats with limited internal volume.

In addition to its imaging capabilities, BlueBON is equipped with TetraPLEX, an AI-powered onboard processor developed by TelePIX. This processor enables real-time image analysis directly in space, significantly reducing processing time from over six minutes to just 11 seconds. Over the next three months, TelePIX plans to enhance image clarity through radiation correction and focus adjustment.

TelePIX is also exploring business opportunities in exporting satellite-based climate monitoring solutions and entering the carbon credit market. Discussions are underway with international companies and institutions, including Saudi Arabia, for the export of blue carbon monitoring data.
