Texas Instruments Introduces New Automotive Chips for Enhanced Vehicle Safety
Texas Instruments has introduced a new portfolio of automotive chips aimed at enhancing vehicle autonomy and safety, announced in a press release. The new lineup includes the industry's first high-speed, single-chip lidar laser driver, which offers faster and more accurate object detection compared to traditional discrete solutions.
The portfolio also features high-performance automotive bulk acoustic wave (BAW)-based clocks, which are 100 times more reliable than quartz-based clocks, thus improving the reliability of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Additionally, the new AWR2944P mmWave radar sensor enhances front and corner radar capabilities, providing improved detection range and angular accuracy.
These innovations are designed to support automakers in integrating more autonomous features into a broader range of vehicles, thereby advancing the safety and automation of driving experiences. Preproduction quantities of these new chips are available for purchase on TI.com, with additional options expected in 2026.
