Thales and Google Cloud Partner to Launch Sovereign Cloud in Germany
Thales Group and Google Cloud have announced a partnership to launch a new European sovereign cloud in Germany, according to a press release. The offering aims to provide advanced cloud capabilities while ensuring full data sovereignty and compliance with Germany's regulatory requirements.
The new infrastructure will be operated by a German entity fully owned and controlled by Thales. It is designed to meet the needs of public sector organizations and highly regulated industries under Germany's C3A framework. The service is currently available in Preview and is expected to reach general availability by the end of 2026.
This initiative will complement Thales subsidiary PREMI3NS by S3NS, creating a pan-European, geo-redundant sovereign cloud solution. The combined setup will enable cross-border disaster recovery capabilities within Europe, supporting regional data protection and operational independence.
