Transcripta Bio and Microsoft Research Collaborate on AI-Driven Gene Discovery
Transcripta Bio has announced a collaboration with Microsoft Research to accelerate the discovery of disease-gene associations through the use of advanced artificial intelligence and large-scale transcriptomic data. In a press release, the partnership aims to leverage Transcripta Bio's Drug-Gene Atlas and Microsoft Research's machine learning expertise to identify novel therapeutic opportunities more efficiently than traditional methods.
The collaboration will focus on analyzing chemotranscriptomic datasets to pinpoint candidate disease-gene associations, supported by experimental evidence of gene expression modulation. This initiative is expected to speed up the process from discovery to clinical candidate selection, potentially fast-tracking the delivery of new therapies to patients.
Scott Saponas, Senior Director at Microsoft Research Health Futures, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the potential impact on rare disease treatment. Dr. Chris Moxham, CEO of Transcripta Bio, noted that the collaboration allows for scaling their transcriptomics-driven approach by utilizing Microsoft's computational resources and AI expertise.
