Twin1 Raises $20 Million for Employee Digital Twins
Twin1 has emerged from stealth with a $20 million seed round to build digital twins for lawyers and other office workers, Artificial Lawyer reports. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners, and Aramco Ventures, with participation from EJF Ventures, F Prime, Lakestar, Notion Capital, Orrick, and angel investors.
The San Mateo and London startup creates an AI twin of individual employees using work context from emails, meetings, documents, and workplace systems. The product works with tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, and SharePoint.
Twin1 says the AI twins can answer questions, draft messages in a user's style, and act on a user's behalf within approved limits. Users can review, edit, or reject messages before they are shared.
The company was founded by Lewis Liu, Tom Cahn, Huiting Liu, and Jonathan Budd. Customers include Linklaters, Orrick, Dechert, Customers Bank, and Aegis Energy. Twin1 plans to use the funding to expand its teams in London and California, develop the product, and increase sales.
