The United States and China will create a communication channel for AI incidents and hold a dedicated dialogue in November.

The United States and China agreed to create a communication channel for AI related incidents following a three day summit in Washington, the Associated Press reports. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping also agreed to hold a dedicated AI dialogue in November to discuss risks and benefits.

The White House said the leaders agreed to use the term “super intelligence” instead of “artificial intelligence.” Trump said the United States would limit what it shares with China and would not slow its AI work.

The countries also plan to sign a memorandum on military crisis communications. Separate summit agreements covered trade discussions, tariffs, rare earth supplies and future meetings at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit and the G20.
