U.S. News Acquires Sups AI to Enhance College Admissions Guidance
U.S. News & World Report has acquired Sups, an AI-powered college admissions guidance platform, to enhance its college advising services. Announced in a press release, Sups will join the CollegeAdvisor.com division of U.S. News, aiming to democratize college admissions guidance with AI technology.
Founded in November 2023 by college students Samir Walji, Rehan Rupawalla, and Daniel Rupawalla, Sups provides resources for students during their college application process. The platform assists students in brainstorming ideas, researching college-specific offerings, and receiving feedback on their college essays through a custom-built document editor.
Neil Maheshwari, U.S. News' CFO and COO, expressed enthusiasm about integrating Sups' technology into their college advising portfolio. The acquisition aligns with U.S. News' mission to create marketplaces for consumers, offering personalized application guidance to students globally. Sups' AI tools are designed to provide accessible and affordable college admissions guidance, complementing U.S. News' existing services such as College Advisor, TeenLife, MyFit Custom Rankings, and Scholarship Finder.
