Voltavate Receives $3.55 Million ARENA Grant to Scale Battery Manufacturing

Voltavate has secured $3.55 million in grant funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to advance its in-house separator manufacturing platform and move from lab-scale development to pilot-scale battery production.

Voltavate has received $3.55 million in grant funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to scale its new approach to battery manufacturing, announced in a press release. The funding, provided through ARENA’s Advancing Renewables Program, will support the company’s transition from laboratory development to pilot-scale production.

The project will establish pilot-scale manufacturing facilities and integrate Voltavate’s proprietary separator technology into battery cells for independent performance and safety testing. The company’s platform allows battery manufacturers to produce separators in-house, reducing reliance on third-party suppliers and enabling customization for specific cell designs.

Voltavate’s separator technology is designed to enhance energy density and battery lifespan while improving production efficiency. The pilot project will generate validated prototype cells for customer evaluation, positioning the company for commercial deployment and broader industry adoption.
