Thirteen teams used World Context datasets to build robotics projects across hardware, software and visualization tracks at UC Berkeley.

World Context, a Pakistani robotics data startup, hosted its first hackathon at the University of California, Berkeley, according to Arab News Pakistan. Thirteen teams used the company's human demonstration datasets to build projects across hardware, software and visualization tracks.

Sortbot won the hardware track with a system for sorting different types of objects. Reconstructors won the software category with a project that recreated World Context data in a physical environment, while the team's simulation won the visualization track. Organizers awarded $4,500 in total cash prizes.

World Context records workers completing industrial tasks with wearable gloves, sensors and head mounted cameras. The resulting datasets capture hand movements, finger movements and applied pressure for training robotics systems. The company says it is collecting data from about 8,000 workers in Pakistan across textile, automotive, logistics and other manufacturing sectors.
