Meanwhile, Beijing-based firm Ubiquant has launched open-source language models that claim to match the performance of US models like GPT-5.1 and Claude, focusing on code intelligence. In another development, Eficode has announced a strategic transformation of its global operations to focus on AI in software development and effective Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) tooling.
The acquisition of AI platform Manus by Meta for $2 billion is under regulatory scrutiny, especially from Chinese authorities, due to concerns over technology export controls. Additionally, Infosys and Cognition have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate Cognition's AI software engineer, Devin, with Infosys Topaz Fabric, aiming to enhance software development for global enterprises.
