Anthropic IPO Prospectus Warns of Existential AI Risks
Anthropic has circulated its IPO prospectus after delaying planned marketing until at least mid October, and the document warns that advanced AI could pose existential risks to humanity, according to the Financial Times. The company expects to list on Nasdaq this autumn.
The Claude maker reported an operating loss of more than $8 billion for 2025 on revenue of nearly $4.6 billion. Operating expenses reached almost $13 billion, while the company disclosed $518 billion in planned cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations over the coming years.
Nearly one third of the prospectus covers risk factors, including the possibility that advanced models could manipulate or blackmail people and exhibit unpredictable behavior. The filing also says two customers generated close to one quarter of Anthropic's 2025 revenue.
