Devin for MongoDB Modernizations combines Cognition's AI software engineer with MongoDB's Application Modernization Platform to update legacy applications and migrate data.

Cognition and MongoDB launched Devin for MongoDB Modernizations, the companies announced in a press release. The service connects Cognition's Devin AI software engineer with the MongoDB Application Modernization Platform to update legacy applications and move data to MongoDB Atlas.

Devin analyzes code, creates migration plans, and rewrites business logic and data access layers. MongoDB's platform moves and validates data while coordinating the migration process. Engineering teams retain control over decisions such as target data models and cutover sequencing.

In early joint testing, a task that previously required five to six hours took just over one hour. The service is available to MongoDB and Cognition customers.
