Oracle to Offer Google TPUs Through OCI in 2027

Oct 27, 2026
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure will offer Google Tensor Processing Units starting in 2027, becoming the first hyperscale cloud platform outside Google to provide the chips.

Oracle Corporation and Google Cloud announced in a press release that Google Tensor Processing Units will become available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in 2027. OCI will be the first hyperscale cloud platform outside Google to offer the chips.

Oracle will provide the power, cooling, and data center networking needed to deploy the TPUs. Customers will be able to use them for model training, post training, and inference workloads, including reasoning, agent, and long context applications.

The offering will include Google's eighth generation TPU portfolio. TPU 8t is designed for training and provides nearly three times the compute performance per pod of the previous generation, while TPU 8i is designed for inference. Oracle plans to expand availability over several years.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
