Sony technology supported 630 NFL officiating events during the 2025 season, including virtual measurements, replay reviews, and replay assists.

Sony and the NFL said in a press release that Sony technology supported 630 officiating events during the 2025 season. Hawk-Eye systems handled 21 virtual measurements, 322 replay reviews, and 141 replay assists using boundary line cameras installed in NFL stadiums.

The virtual measurements took nearly half the average time required for traditional chain measurements. All 32 teams used Sony's NFL Coach's Headsets, with more than 2,300 units deployed and no hardware failures reported during the season.

Sony broadcast cameras captured more than 1,100 hours of action across over 300 games. Sony Alpha cameras also enabled The Associated Press to capture more than 130,000 images.
