US Military Reportedly Used Anthropic’s Claude in Venezuela Raid
The US military reportedly used Claude by Anthropic during a raid in Venezuela aimed at capturing Nicolás Maduro, according to TechCrunch. The operation allegedly involved the AI model through Anthropic’s partnership with Palantir Technologies, marking one of the first known uses of a commercial large language model in a classified military mission.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the raid resulted in significant casualties in Caracas. Anthropic declined to confirm whether its AI system was used but stated that all deployments must comply with its usage policies, which prohibit applications involving violence or surveillance.
Following the report, tensions have reportedly escalated between Anthropic and the Pentagon. The Department of Defense is said to be pressing AI companies to allow their technologies to be used for “all lawful purposes,” while Anthropic has resisted, citing restrictions on autonomous weapons and mass surveillance. The Pentagon has reportedly threatened to cancel its $200 million contract with the company.
The disagreement highlights ongoing challenges in defining acceptable military uses of advanced AI systems like those developed by Anthropic and other leading providers.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
