CommonAI Chooses Kao Data for UK AI Infrastructure Test Lab

Oct 21, 2026
CommonAI will deploy at least five GPU clusters at Kao Data's Harlow campus for a UK test lab focused on emerging AI infrastructure.

CommonAI selects the Harlow campus of Kao Data to host the UK Scaling Inference Lab, the companies announced in a press release. The lab will give UK startups access to shared infrastructure for testing AI technologies at rack scale against commercial systems.

CommonAI will deploy at least five dense, GPU accelerated clusters across two dedicated technology suites. The clusters will test approaches including pipeline parallelism, heterogeneous orchestration and nanosecond optical circuit switching, with all five expected to operate by early 2027.

The systems will include NVIDIA HGX B300, H200 NVL and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell hardware, along with AMD Instinct MI350X accelerators. Funding includes a £50 million commitment from the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) and more than £20 million from the UK government.
