More than 85% of online adults in GWI's survey of 53 economies used AI in the past month; DataReportal estimates 4.1 billion monthly AI users.

More than 85% of online adults surveyed by GWI say they used AI at least once in the past month, DataReportal reports in its Digital 2027 analysis of AI use. GWI surveyed more than 235,000 people aged 16 and above across 53 of the world's largest economies in its Q2 2026 wave.

Extrapolating to other countries, DataReportal estimates that 83.5% of internet users aged 16 and above use AI each month, more than 4.1 billion people, or 49.5% of the global population.

Usage among online adults was highest in Kenya at 97.3% and Nigeria at 96.6%, and lowest in Ghana at 35.8%. Younger people use AI most: 93.3% of online adults aged 16 to 24 used it in the past month, against 52.2% of those aged 65 and above.

The survey data comes from GWI, a commercial audience research firm, and covers internet users rather than whole populations.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
