Fermi and TensorWave Miss Data Center Lease Deadline
Fermi America and TensorWave did not close their data center lease by the October 31 deadline, according to Data Center Dynamics. Neither company has exercised its termination rights, and they continue to work through the remaining conditions. TensorWave is Fermi's only public customer for its planned 17 GW Project Matador campus near Amarillo, Texas.
The agreement covers 222 MW of capacity scheduled to become available in the second half of 2027. TensorWave also has expansion rights for two additional data centers with a combined capacity of 650 MW.
Fermi signed a credit support agreement with AMD in October to help fund the 222 MW project. Fermi said it expects to provide more information during its next earnings call, or earlier if appropriate.
