Google Maps Adds Gemini to Apple CarPlay
Google Maps is rolling out Gemini for navigation through Apple CarPlay, according to 9to5Google. Drivers can tap the Gemini icon during navigation to ask multiple step questions, find destinations and change route settings such as avoiding toll roads.
Gemini also lets drivers report traffic disruptions by voice. This is the first voice assistant available within Google Maps on CarPlay, as Google Assistant previously worked only when navigation ran directly on an iPhone.
The feature is available now in the US, with a global rollout underway.
