Amazon Says AWS Cloud Capacity Is Largely Sold Out Through 2027

Oct 24, 2026
Amazon says most AWS cloud computing capacity is sold through 2027, with significant customer commitments extending into 2028 as demand for AI infrastructure grows.

Amazon Web Services cloud computing capacity is largely sold out through 2027, with significant commitments extending into 2028, Reuters reports. CEO Andy Jassy said capacity for 2026 is already sold out as demand from AI labs and enterprises continues to grow.

AWS keeps some capacity available for on demand use and services including Amazon Bedrock and EC2. Bedrock gives customers access to AI models for building generative AI applications, while EC2 provides cloud servers for running applications.

Amazon said earlier this year that it plans to spend about $220 billion on capital expenditure in 2026. Jassy said the company could invest more because of the demand for cloud computing capacity.
