Ant International, Visa and Mastercard Develop Know Your Agent Framework
Ant International, Mastercard, and Visa announced in a press release that they are developing a Know Your Agent interoperability framework for AI agents that make purchases on behalf of users. It will help card networks, digital wallets, agent platforms, and marketplaces identify and onboard agents across networks.
The framework will cover operator traceability, shared certification requirements, and continuous transaction monitoring. Each agent would be linked to a validated operator, cardholder, or organization, assessed against security and behavioral requirements, and monitored through identity and transaction signals.
The work will draw on Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol, Mastercard Verifiable Intent, and Ant International's Agentic Mobile Protocol. The companies will collaborate through BuildFin.ai, a financial services industry platform convened by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
