Egyptian Cabinet Media Centre Launches Chat Egypt Fact Checking Platform
The Egyptian Cabinet Media Centre launched Chat Egypt, an AI based platform for monitoring and verifying rumors and misleading claims, according to CairoScene. The platform was unveiled at Egypt Forum 2026, which began on October 19.
Chat Egypt has four sections: News, Awareness, Statistics and Citizen Inquiries. It can analyze text, images and videos, placing material within its timeline and factual context to identify manipulation or inaccurate information.
Ministries, government bodies and governorates can add verified information within their areas of responsibility. The platform contains more than 21,000 entries, along with daily statements from officials.
A disclaimer says automated responses may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies or outdated information. It advises users to verify important answers against primary sources, legislation or the relevant government authority.
