Interactive Brokers Introduces Autonomous AI Trading

Oct 21, 2026
Eligible clients can authorize connected AI platforms to monitor more than 75,000 listed stocks, options and exchange traded funds, then submit supported orders based on their instructions.

Interactive Brokers announced in a press release IBKR Autonomous Trading, which lets eligible clients authorize connected AI platforms to monitor more than 75,000 listed stocks, options and exchange traded funds worldwide. The AI can submit supported orders based on criteria defined by the client, without requiring approval for each trade.

Clients create and fund a dedicated AI Partition by transferring money from their main IBKR account. They can use natural language to set trading instructions, portfolio allocation conditions and safeguards, while account restrictions and funding limits apply.

The broker's existing AI Integration connects accounts to platforms including ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Perplexity through Model Context Protocol. That service generates instructions for client review, while Autonomous Trading adds permission for connected AI to submit supported orders directly. Availability depends on the Interactive Brokers affiliate, country, regulations and account eligibility.
