Deception was involved in 92% of high value technology shipment thefts. Reported methods included fraudulent carrier identities, double brokering, spoofed communications and falsified paperwork.
Overhaul says individual losses now regularly exceed $30 million and such thefts occur weekly. The largest single AI cargo theft recorded by the company exceeded $100 million.
