Salesforce to Acquire Rune Technologies for Military Logistics Software

Oct 30, 2026
Salesforce signed an agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, which provides logistics software for military operations with limited connectivity. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027.

Salesforce Inc. signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, the company announced in a press release. Salesforce called it its most significant national security acquisition and did not give a price. Its defence business is growing 80% a year and includes a 10-year US Army contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling.

Rune provides logistics software that helps military teams forecast supply needs, allocate resources, plan transportation routes, and assess logistics plans. Its systems can operate with limited or no connectivity and synchronize data when a network becomes available.

Salesforce plans to add Rune's technology to its Missionforce portfolio, connecting frontline logistics with personnel, maintenance, procurement, field service, and asset management workflows. Rune's software is already deployed with the US Army and US Marine Corps.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
