Aramco Closes Deal for 49% HUMAIN Stake With $2.6 Billion Cash Contribution
Saudi Aramco and the Public Investment Fund have closed a transaction in which Aramco, through a wholly owned subsidiary, acquires a 49% stake in Saudi AI company HUMAIN, the Saudi Press Agency reports. PIF retains 51% ownership.
The transaction involves about SAR9.9 billion ($2.6 billion) in cash contributions from Aramco to HUMAIN in 2026, in addition to AI, compute and digital assets. PIF and Aramco are both contributing AI assets, capabilities and talent.
HUMAIN, launched in May 2025, is building data centers, cloud platforms, AI models including the Arabic language model ALLaM, and industry solutions. It plans to deploy 3 gigawatts of AI data center capacity by 2030 and aims to become one of the leading exporters of AI globally. Aramco expects to use HUMAIN's infrastructure for industrial AI applications.
"Since 2023, Aramco has achieved $11.3 billion in Technology Realized Value, with a significant portion coming from AI solutions," said Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser.
