Advantech Expands Robotics Platform With Functional Safety
Advantech has expanded its Physical AI and robotics platform with functional safety features, the company announced in a press release. Its five layer architecture covers perception, AI computing and motion control, functional safety, production and validation, and deployment and management.
The architecture separates AI computing from an independent safety path that monitors system health, detects faults and supports application defined safe states. Advantech provides a safety microcontroller, diagnostic mechanisms, safety documentation and engineering support for the platform.
The MIC-735-IT uses NVIDIA IGX Thor and can include a Renesas safety microcontroller. Advantech says its platform can support system integration under IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, while customers or system integrators remain responsible for hazard analysis, validation and final certification.
Advantech will demonstrate the MIC-735-IT and MIC-742-AT at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026. The demonstrations will cover separated computing and safety paths, sensor synchronization, AI computing and robotic perception.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
