OpenAI, PerturbAI, and Scripps Research used thousands of GPT-Rosalind agents to analyze data from millions of mouse brain cells in 32 minutes, as detailed in an OpenAI research post. The agents examined how individual gene disruptions affected cells, searched scientific literature, and proposed explanations for the results.

The system combined the reports into a reasoning atlas connecting genes, cellular effects, publications, and possible biological mechanisms. OpenAI estimated that a comparable human analysis conducted one gene disruption at a time would take months to a year. At the largest workload, the distributed agents cited more than 700 references, compared with 11 from a single agent given the full dataset.

The analysis identified different effects from disruptions to Tsc1 and Tsc2, two genes associated with cell growth and metabolism. It also connected disruption of DCTN1, a gene linked to Perry syndrome, with increased expression of genes involved in cholesterol production. These findings remain research leads that require further laboratory testing.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
