Plato raised a $16 million Series A to expand simulated workplaces for training and evaluating AI models.

Plato raised a $16 million Series A led by Nava Ventures, the company said in a press release. Gradient Ventures, Transpose Platform and Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman also participated, bringing Plato's total funding to $19 million.

Plato builds simulated workplaces where AI developers can train and evaluate models without affecting live software, spending money or changing actual records. Its environments recreate tools and tasks from customer support, people operations, finance, accounting and healthcare administration.

The company evaluates whether models complete tasks while following instructions and constraints, including budgets. Plato will use the funding to expand its simulation library, pay professionals to recreate their jobs and deploy AI agents on tasks to collect training experience.
