Endeavour and Trevi Systems Pair Data Centers With Desalination

Oct 22, 2026
Endeavour and Trevi Systems are partnering to use data center waste heat for desalination and brine concentration. They claim the system can produce up to 200,000 gallons of clean water per day for each megawatt of computing capacity.

Endeavour and Trevi Systems announced in a press release a partnership to use data center waste heat for desalination and brine concentration. Endeavour plans to deploy the technology first at its US data centers, followed by broader installations with other data center operators.

The system combines Endeavour's closed loop waterless cooling platform with Trevi Systems' forward osmosis process. Heat captured from computing equipment regenerates a draw solution at temperatures of 60 to 80 degrees Celsius, separating clean water while concentrating salts and contaminants into solids.

The companies claim the system can produce up to 200,000 gallons of clean water per day from brackish groundwater for each megawatt of computing capacity. The estimated output falls to about 50,000 gallons per day per megawatt when treating oilfield produced water. A 100 megawatt data center campus could therefore produce up to 20 million gallons of clean water per day.
