Warp Sciences Raises $215 Million to Automate Drug Discovery Labs
Warp Sciences, founded by former OpenAI science lead Kevin Weil, has raised $215 million at an $865 million valuation, Weil announced on X, TechCrunch reports. The company will use robots to make and test compounds identified by drug researchers.
Lightspeed Venture Partners led the funding round, with participation from IVP, Premji Invest, and Lux Capital.
Human chemists wearing cameras and sensor gloves will train the robots to perform wet lab tasks. Warp Sciences plans to automate work that biotech companies often outsource to contractors in China, allowing lab operations to continue around the clock.
